Dr. Halim Hamzaoui is the Director of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Country Office for Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania and Tunisia, based in Algiers. A specialist in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), he holds a medical degree and completed advanced training in occupational health and safety in France. He began his career at the Tunisian Ministry of Social Affairs, where he served in the field of occupational health and labour inspection. He joined the ILO in 2016 as a technical specialist in OSH and later worked at the ILO headquarters in Geneva. Dr. Hamzaoui has extensive expertise in occupational safety and health, labour inspection, labour administration and social protection, contributing to the promotion of decent work and social justice across North Africa.
